What are droplet-related phenomena?

These rainbow-colored phenomena are created when the sunlight reflects, refracts, and scatters in water droplets suspended in the atmosphere.
The most famous of these phenomena is the rainbow:

However, similar processes can lead to different phenomena, and even rainbows hide secrets beyond the also well-known “double rainbow”… :shushing_face:

How diverse their appearances are?

Most of the droplet-related phenomena have circular shapes, with the exception of iridescent clouds, which you can find instead in #unusual-clouds.

Coronas are common and appear just around the sun or other light sources. They are most often visible in moonlight rather than in sunlight because the sun’s brightness outshines the corona unless the sun is obscured by an object or an opaque enough cloud.
